Ink My Whole Body

Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa is just one of the many examples of those in love with the art of tattooing. With a catchy song titled, Ink My Whole Body, the Taylor Gang leader raps about his love for ink from head to toe. Another great example comes from one of hip hop’s biggest names, Lil Wayne. The Young Money recording artist brags, “Body marked up like the subway in Harlem!”

I believe that tattoos are a beautiful form of artwork and self expression. I currently have two tattoos and would like many more. My first was done at a tattoo party. Being one year shy of the legal tattoo and piercing age I was unable to get tattooed at a shop, especially since my mother didn’t support my decision and wouldn’t sign the consent form. I will never forget the numbing pain I felt as the needle broke my skin. This soon became my dirty little secret I hid from my mother. Six months later she found out on her own, but on my eighteenth birthday the first thing I did was sign my own consent form and add another tattoo to my collection.

On My Mind – 3P!C

This is a song written by my bandmate Kemar Hart and I, and together we form a music group called 3P!C. The beat we used is from Frank Ocean’s song “Thinking About You”. Below are the lyrics as well as the YouTube video.

“On My Mind” – 3P!C

L. Washington:

Forever lasts only in a perfect dream

And that’s in a perfect world

The existence of a perfect girl

But since none of it is true

Nonsense doesn’t exclude

If I’m not on your mind it aint rude

But me I’ve been thinking ’bout you

K. Hart:

1,00o days go by

And I’m still waiting on your call

You haven’t left my mind

Sine I last saw you I think you know why

Footprints in the sand

Clouds cover the sky

Still no word from you and I wonder why

Not having you in my life I can’t have that baby

Why you trying to hurt me

Living in a Cole World

The wait is over! On Tuesday September 27, 2011, the Fayetteville, North Carolina native Jermaine Lamarr Cole also known to his fans as J. Cole, released his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. Released under Jay-Z’s record label, Roc Nation, the LP falls into the hip hop genre. The albums title stems from J. Cole’s thoughts about being signed to Jay-Z’s label, comparing it to being on the sideline of his favorite team, anxiously waiting for the coach to finally put him into the game.

From the intro, to his first single and final track, “Workout,” his lyrics are filled with a smooth rhythm that’s hard to resist. With each song telling a personal story, the album is nothing short of amazing. Some noteworthy singles from the album are “Mr. Nice Watch,” and “Nobody’s Perfect.” A highlight from the LP is his catchy melodic flows over well blended beats. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Cole World: The Sideline Story a 9.
